of devotees celebrates the feast of the Child Jesus (Sto.Nino) in Quirino
Grandstand with the Holiness of Pope Francis.
Almost
7millions of pilgrims and devotees joined the Holy Mass of Pope Francis last Sunday
18th day of January at the Luneta Grandstand. Part of the 5 days apostolic
visit of the Pope in the Philippines.
After
he meet the youth and religious people at the University of Sto. Tomas, Pope
Francis go forthwith to the Quirino Grandstand using the Filipino Pride Pope
Mobile that was made from the design of a jeepney.
Pope
Francis immediately starts the Holy Mass after he greeted all the people who
are waiting almost 20 hours in the grandstand. He gave everyone a smile of hope
and peace.
In
his homily, Pope Francis expressed his love to all the Filipino people. He
states that "We need to end the poverty, ignorance and corruption".
In this statement Pope Francis really care for all Filipinos. By ending the
poverty, helping each other to lead in the country of cognizance and cut the
corruption that causes all the challenges in the country.
On
the other hand, at the middle of the mass Pope Francis bless all the Sto. Nino
images as the celebration of the Feast day of the Child Jesus. A sinulog dance
were presented to the Pope as part of Filipino culture and unending devotion to
the Child Jesus.
Devotees
who brought their images where so glad as they join the dancing of the sinulog.
They believed that the Child Jesus will give them hope.
As
Pope Francis said, "Lets us be like Sto. Nino, Sto. Nino will make us one
family as we believe and strengthen our faith.
In the latter part of the mass Pope Francis bless everyone. Candle
lighting was done as the symbol of faith. As the music "We all are God's
Children" plays, Filipinos were united on faith, dreaming for the better
nation and reaching the love and peace that God gave, "Spread the light of
love, hope and peace to everyone", added by Pope Francis.
The Pope also remember the Youth as he said "let's care the
young people, justice, integrity and peace as we become a one family with
Christ Jesus".
